Holidays
What is it about the Holidays and women? My wife promised me, no new decorations and that was over $200 ago. They seem, and perhaps it's a woman thing, to want new decorations each year. Now, if it was me, I'd hang a wreath or two, a string of lights, and put up a tree...and I'm done. I have nothing against the season, but lets get real here....why do the whole house for ONE day? Even our bathroom has decorations in it, as if I'd really notice when I need to go.
The idea behind the season has been lost and it has become commercialized to the point it's no longer a season of giving, but of buying. I dislike that and can remember times of giving. Often, when I was young, we gave something old that we owned to someone who liked it...but now, each kid gets X number of dollars spent and this person gets some much and so on...I don't like that at all. Come on, make the season as it should be; one of giving and accepting the gift as it is given and it the mood it is given.
