My wife has a new computer....Lord help me. As a writer, at times I tend to get deep in my story as I move the action along, but that's difficult to do when every five minutes I hear, "Gary, what does this mean?" Or, "What in the hell is this thingy that keeps moving around on my screen?"

I use my computer to write, so I don't know about webcams for the kids, music, or games. If I want pics of the kid, I pull out a camera, music, I turn on the radio, games, I go to the mall. What is all of this? I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO idea how to hook up a webcam, download music, or use a digital camera....I'll use my 1864 Kodak, thank you. Besides, who would use a computer to do the job of things that MUST be used or we'll put folks out of jobs.

Consider this...if we use our computer to listen to music..local D.J.'s will go away....if we use the computer to take pics, what about the lady at Walgreens that developes your film? And, finally, video games...well, I can remember a time in America when they weren't around....and let me tell you, the kids never missed 'em either. Electronic games are garbage, most of 'em, with blood flying, bodies blown apart, and not a tear shed...If I want that, I'll read one of MY books.

It's time for America, and people with new computers, to wake up and smell the cable bill...I'll bet ya most of y'all have a cable bill that equals your phone bill....and I rest my case.

I just read a report that the US is not going to be able to finish all 142 health clinics we are building for Iran.  Now, am I confused or what?  Isn't Iran the same country that has been threatening everyone with the "big bomb" the last year?  Haven't they been loudly rattling the saber?

Don't misunderstand me here, I don't want anyone ill or in serious need of medical treatment if it can be prevented, but to build health clinics for folks who are threatening to blow up half of the world (including us) makes me wonder about the sanity of the idea.  Seems to me we should be making clinics for us, just in case Iran carrys out the threat, right?

I can understand public and world opinion about the need for quality care for all, but this one eludes me totally.  I had no idea were were building anything for Iran and then I read about water treatment facilities, electrical plants, and so on.  There must have been some part of the report I didn't read, or it was incomplete.
